When Todd Lochner was looking for a new apartment, he was looking to become—in his words—a “dog dad,” so he wanted a place that would be ideal for his new four-legged roommate. He was moving from Schaumburg, and Watermark was an awesome location, right near his work. Now that his dog had “rescued him,” all of the pet-friendly features made the community the perfect place for him to settle in as he started his life with his new best friend. We sat down with Todd to learn more about what drew him to Watermark and how it’s going so far!

How did you hear about Watermark?

I drove past Watermark each day during the construction right up to the Open House. It was impressive to see the structure of the buildings and to know they are well built.

Why did you choose Watermark?

I primarily chose Watermark because of the location—less than 2 miles of my office. Secondarily, I was impressed how pet friendly Watermark is, with 2 dog parks, indoor dog washing stations, and a walking path surrounding a pond. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the underground heated parking—that is so important to me. The amenities are all wonderful additions to an already impressive property:

• beautiful pool
• terrace with gas grills and gas fire pits along with tables and chairs (a favorite of mine!)
• the clubhouse to include a party room
• fitness center
• Amazon Hub
• community rooms in both D and E buildings

Pretty much all of them are amazing when put together.

What are your favorite features of your apartment?

The location of my apartment (4th floor overlooking the pond) is my favorite feature. I was not aware of how much this would mean to me until COVID and having to stay at home for so many days. At least I had a great view every day.

What do you like about the Watermark location?

I like that I have a view of nature every day, and anything and everything I need for shopping and restaurants are very nearby. I also like that it’s very near the I-90 expressway, as I travel for business quite a lot and it’s easy-on, easy-off for me. Also, my office is less than 2 miles from home, which makes for a pleasurable commute.

Why should people looking for an apartment choose Watermark?

Because it seems that they’ve thought of everything—beautiful buildings and apartments, location, amazing amenities, and, may I also say, a wonderful staff who are genuine and always very helpful.
