When Jorge Reza was looking for a new home, he was drawn to the one community he found that was set up to make him feel exactly that—at home. Tell us about yourself and your move.

Prior to our move to Watermark I owned a home—a 3 bedroom home. I sold it because of how high the market was and I was able to turn a profit. Initially I was not going to rent. I’ve never rented in my life. I was going to move into a larger home, but I’m single—no family or kids, so no need for a full size house or stress of being a homeowner. I looked at other apartments and the energy and atmosphere at Watermark was completely different. 

How did you hear about Watermark?

I have a few buddies there who were like, “Dude, you’ve got to come check it out.” Sure enough I did, and I loved the environment, the atmosphere, and the energy of the people there. I knew right away that this place is really nice. 

I decided to look into the apartments, and I fell in love with the view. That was the main draw after touring—that was what sold me on moving here. I’m facing the wilderness, and have an incredible view from my balcony. On top of that, I love not having homeowner obligations, like mowing the lawn, cleaning the gutters, raking leaves, or other maintenance. I love the minimal exposure to the cold—even not having to go in the cold to take out the trash in the winter. Here, I have the indoor garage, the trash chute, and maintenance, and the minimal exposure to the outdoors in the times I don’t want to be there. All of that is what sold me. 

Why did you choose Watermark?

The first thing that attracts you is the apartment models—the colors, ambiance, and the energy. They speak loudly about what it’s like here. They have a warm feeling—it makes you want to be here. You can tell right away that there is intent on making people feel at home, welcome, and good. At other apartments I visited, you can see they just want to turn a profit—it’s a business feeling versus at Watermark, where they create a family environment and you can feel the potential to turn it into a home.

What are your favorite features of your apartment and why?

I love the big bathroom, and the bamboo floors are pretty awesome. I also love the balcony, the view. I would say those are my favorite. I bought grass that covers the whole balcony and it’s beautiful—it feels like a backyard garden. I put extra lights on the balcony and chairs. It’s a place I go to get away, destress, and unwind—to slow down. We live in such a fast paced society and world, but this space gives me the chance to slow down and enjoy. 

What are your favorite overall community features/amenities and why?

I love the gym as an added value/bonus. I love the pool, the fountains. The pool lights up at night, which is a really cool touch. Again, with those little touches you can tell the high intent levels on making it feel high end and welcoming. The outdoor grills are fun—I use them with friends and we have a blast. I love the underground heated parking with car wash stations. And the fire pit is my most favorite. I gather my friends, we go down there, turn the fire on, talk, relax, and hang out. 

What do you like about the Watermark location?

The convenience—where I used to live it took me quite some time to get to the highway. It literally takes me 5 minutes now. This maximizes efficiency of travel times anywhere I’m going. 

Watermark is also close to friends and work—because of that it really maximizes the quality of my life. Everything is clean and taken care of, new, and with the time I save on maintenance and work commute, I get to sleep in more. It’s a community—with everything so close—the gym, the pool, the restaurants, and access 24/7 to the fire pits. You can have a lot of fun and enjoy the time spent here.
